New laws are good news for craft breweries in Virginia. This week state congress passed two pieces of legislation making it easier for breweries to do business. Senate Bill 604 will allow breweries to serve beer where its produced and let them to give out free samples. This means potential job growth and a spike in tourism.
House Bill 359 will let larger breweries lease space to smaller ones, helping them save on start-up costs. Governor McDonnell signed the bills into law yesterday. Great timing for the Virginia Beer Festival this weekend in Downtown Norfolk. Check out the details for it here.
